We collaborate with the Ministry of Health through the National Cancer Control Programme, in policy formulation and implementation. Members of our team sit on various Technical Working Groups (TWGs) to help in policy formulation and implementation. We also coordinate various roundtable meetings with stakeholders and partners in the cervical cancer space, to ensure a united approach in cervical cancer advocacy.

Achievements so far:

  1. Policy Formulation –The Organization was represented and played a key role in the formulation of the Kenya National Cancer Control Strategy 2017 – 2021 as part of our Technical Assistance to Ministry of Health Kenya.

  2. Policy Advocacy – Our team coordinated and collaborated with WHO Regional Office in Brazzaville, Congo in coming up with the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Toolkits. These toolkits contribute to efforts in Africa to improve women’s health by advocating for the respective governments to promote and give women access to appropriate, affordable, and effective services for cervical cancer prevention and control.

  3. Policy Mobilisation – In May 2017, we received a Policy Advocacy Incentive Award valued at USD 1000 Grant from Women's Empowerment Cancer Advocacy Network (WE CAN). The team engaged with the County First Ladies Association (CFLA) to educate them on the need to advocate for resource allocation for cervical cancer prevention at County Level. This is to guarantee that women can access primary prevention services in the devolved health systems.
